Jessica Giles
I grew up in eastern South Dakota. For you non-South Dakotans that's the opposite side of Mount Rushmore. It doesn't have a ton to offer unless you really like corn, beans, and grass. Nonetheless I still really love my state.
I also grew up playing every sport possible and eventually played college basketball and track. I was blessed to have a ton of success throughout my career, but it came with some struggles too. In short, I thought my identity came from being an athlete. That thinking was so incredibly flawed though. Eventually I realized that I was first and foremost a child of God who happened to be an athlete. Woofta did that change a lot of things for me.
I'm now retired from being an athlete. Which I think makes me really old. Everyone else seems to think that being 24 is still pretty young though. I also work for an organization called Fellowship of Christian Athletes. If the name doesn't tell you enough, then look us up. We're pretty cool.
That's probably all you care to know about me, but I will indulge you in a few more fun facts about myself:
-
I'm a triplet.
-
I have a golden retriever.
-
I'm big on chocolate covered raisins.
-
Oh, and I love Jesus!
